[When It's Not Too Late Yet]

When It's Not Too Late Yet, 2019
"the soul rests when the heart is calm; nervous, I searched for meaning in the things that surrounded me."
My creative process begins with the act of walking, observing, collecting, and keeping. I look for shelter in the chaos of found objects, the search for a possible order. Collecting them is a movement of the body, one that tilts the eyes toward wonder, and holds the breath when something small, organic or inorganic, catches my attention and draws me into that loving encounter. An affective act that gathers it up and carries it to my studio.
From this chaos, and also from the silent conversations with the beings that inhabit things, this small sculptures emerge speaking of my interests. A simbolic dialogue between a faucet, a globe of the earth, a kettle, a gas canister, and a green flower vase. They all want to say the same thing: how can we find a future with a world that grows warmer every day, with glaciers melting and forests disappearing in the name of progress. Our world is growing smaller; we already know that we are deeply irresponsible — failing to realize that our individual actions are global too.
