A série Inventores do Amanhã, origina-se a partir de um conjunto com mais de 300 fotografias [em formato 3x4] encontradas no descarte urbano por catadores de materiais recicláveis parceiros do projeto ACHO – Arquivo Coleções de Histórias Ordinárias. São retratos de jovens que, em algum momento de sua trajetória, integraram o programa da Associação de Educação do Homem de Amanhã, mais conhecido como “Guardinha de Campinas”, fundada em 1959, destinado à formação de jovens em situação de vulnerabilidade social.

Diante desse acervo institucional descartado, surge a indagação: O que fazer com ele? Como podemos olhar para esses documentos e formular novas questões por meio de intervenções artística nas imagens? Até que ponto uma identidade é individual e quando ela se torna coletiva? Esses retratos representam fragmentos de tempo, instantes congelados, revelando um caleidoscópio de histórias invisíveis.

Adotando uma abordagem poética em relação aos vestígios históricos dessas fotografias, foram realizadas fotomontagens, criando imagens precárias e instigantes num processo de trabalho em que parto do individual para o coletivo. Procuro repensar sobre o que une e separa as vidas desses jovens e seus corpos em um tributo à diversidade.

Inventors of Tomorrow, 2020-2024

The "Inventors of Tomorrow" series originates from a collection of over 300 photographs, in 3x4 format, rescued from urban waste by recyclable material collectors who are partners of the ACHO project - Archive Collections of Ordinary Stories. These photos portray young people who, at some point in their trajectories, participated in the program of the Association for the Education of Tomorrow's Man, better known as the "Guardinha de Campinas", founded in 1959 with the aim of educating young people in situations of social vulnerability.

Faced with this discarded institutional archive, the question arises: what to do with it? How can we look at these documents and formulate new questions through artistic interventions in the images? To what extent is an identity individual, and when does it become collective? These portraits represent fragments of time, frozen moments, revealing a kaleidoscope of invisible stories.

Taking a poetic approach to the historical vestiges of these photographs, photomontages were created resulting in delicate and thought-provoking images. This process of work starts from the individual to reach the collective, allowing for reflection on what unites and separates the lives of these young people and their bodies, in homage to diversity.
