Flower Show é o espetáculo das flores, das rosas e da beleza. É o turbilhão da infância, quando eu buscava refúgio odiando as flores — especialmente as rosas. Minha missão é encontrar a beleza naquilo que ninguém imagina que possa ser belo: os restos, o lixo. Este livro fala sobre o lugar imposto às mulheres da minha família ao longo da nossa história. Mulheres descendentes de inglesas que vivem na Argentina, agarradas aos costumes de seus antepassados. Flower Show conta a minha história. Assim como minhas antepassadas, fui viver em outro país. Foi ali que me permiti ser artista e libertei meu desamor pelas rosas depois de encontrar um álbum de fotos de flores no lixo, no ano de 2020.
Flower Show is a spectacle of flowers, roses and beauty. It is the whirlwind of childhood, when I sought refuge while hating flowers—especially roses. My mission is to find beauty in what no one imagines could be beautiful: remnants and rubbish. This book speaks about the place imposed on the women in my family throughout our history. Descendants of English women living in Argentina, they held on to the customs of their ancestors. Flower Show tells my story. Like my ancestors, I moved to another country. It was there that I allowed myself to become an artist and freed myself from my dislike of roses after finding a photo album of flowers in the rubbish in 2020.
